PROFILE OF H.E. NANA KWESI ARHIN AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA TO ALGERIA WITH CONCURRENT ACCREDITATION TO TUNISIA AND SAHRAWI ARAB DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC
His Excellency Nana Kwesi Arhin, currently Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ghana to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria and concurrently accredited to Tunisia as well as Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) was commissioned by his Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on 14th September, 2017. He subsequently assumed duties in November, 2018.
H.E Nana Kwesi Arhin is an illustrious career diplomat who prior to his appointment as an Ambassador, was the Head of Consular Section at the Ghana High Commission in Abuja, Nigeria from February to September 2017, having returned to base the previous year after a four year tour of duty at the Ghana Embassy in Tokyo, Japan.
H.E. Nana Kwesi Arhin served two consecutive terms in the United States of America (USA). From 1998 to 2002 he was the Acting Consul-General of the Ghana Consulate-General in New York and delegate to the Plenary of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly. Two years after his return home, H.E. Nana Kwesi Arhin was again posted to the Ghana Permanent Mission in New York as delegate to the 1st and 4th Committees of the General Assembly of the UN from 2004 - 2009.
Ambassador Nana Arhin discharged his maiden official diplomatic assignment from 1991 to 1995 in Libya following his appointment into the service in July, 1987.
In the course of his career, Ambassador Nana Arhin has served in various capacities (both at base and abroad) which largely informed a profound interest in Peace, Security, and Strategic Studies, Human Resource capacity building as well as Policy Formulation and Implementation.
He obtained Higher Diploma Certificate in Diplomacy at the University of Nairobi in 1991 and was awarded Certificate in Public Administration at GIPMA in, 1980, Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences (History and Law), in 1984 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Born on 3rd July, 1960, H.E. Nana Kwesi Arhin is married and enjoys among his numerous hobbies, reading, soccer and listening to music.
